Wireless Ad Hoc Sensor Networks
Wireless Ad-Hoc Sensor Networks

A Research and Demonstration Project

Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

(Project Team)

Project Objectives

This research effort brings together eleven experts from a variety of areas:

Signal processing, Communications, Networking, Operating systems, Compilers, Sensor technology and VLSI, with the common goal of studying and developing algorithms, software, and platforms for wireless sensor networks.

Our objective is to conduct research and gain expertise in several key areas including efficient low power sensors and devices, support software, and distributed algorithms for data processing and transmission.

We plan to identify an application, develop a complete wireless sensor network architecture, design algorithms for self-organisation, medium access scheduling, and distributed signal processing.

We propose to develop a power aware compiler and an operating system. These will be demonstrated on a scalable simulation and also on a few off-the-shelf "motes".

We also propose to design an integrated mote, and also a sensor.
