M.Tech (Research) is a 2 - 2.5 year research based programme. Students are required to complete a specified number of courses, which are chosen in consultation with their research advisors, and complete a dissertation based on original research.
The requirement for the dissertation is less than that in Ph.D. Students in the M.Tech (Research) programmes.
The students generally publish their work in peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals, and obtain research experience that is valuable both in the industry as well as for continuing on to pursue a Ph.D.
The number of credits of coursework to be registered for should be 12-18 with minimum 3 credits of Mathematics course/s.
